Are you looking for a toddler group where your child will feel right at home and can be completely themselves? A place where attention is paid to the Bible every day and your child is encouraged to discover new things? Where playing with peers is safe and fun? Then come and have a look at Junia.
At Junia, your child will quickly feel at ease in our challenging and friendly locations. In our toddler group, formerly known as a toddler playgroup or crèche, development through play and fun is paramount. We ensure a good balance between activities, Biblical themes and moments of rest. At the end of the morning or day, you can take your toddler home happily.
Extra fine; varied lunch, healthy snacks, drinks, sleeping bag and sun cream are included in the care.
A flying start for your toddler
Your toddler will learn a lot through play in the toddler group of Junia. Here your child can play safely and enjoyably while being stimulated to develop new skills. Almost all daycare centers use Peuterstart, a certified program that stimulates your child's development.
If your child starts at Junia, he or she will soon make a new friend: Puk (Bas at some locations). Puk is a doll from Peuterstart and together with your toddler experiences all kinds of fun and recognizable adventures.
Your toddler develops new skills in a playful way and learns to make friends
The 'Uk & Puk' method has various themes that your child will work on for a number of weeks in the toddler group. With the help of the doll Puk, your toddler will learn all kinds of new skills in a playful way. For example, during the theme 'Enjoy your meal', your toddler will taste pieces of fruit and vegetables, discover whether he or she can eat with a fork, learn where food comes from and make his or her own placemat.
Through the activities your toddler experiences within these themes, he or she becomes familiar with concepts such as big and small, near and far, above and below, next to and in. The shared songs stimulate speech and language development, teach your toddler to start counting, making friends, sharing, waiting for his or her turn and moving to music, which contributes to physical development.
Well prepared for primary school
When your toddler turns four and goes to primary school, quite a lot will change. The transition from the toddler group to primary school will be a lot easier thanks to Peuterstart. Junia has a good collaboration with primary schools, which means that the themes of the toddlers tie in well with the programs of the nursery class. This creates a continuous learning line from daycare to school.
Observation method LOOK!
We closely monitor your child's development
With the LOOK! the pedagogical staff follow the total development of your child from 0 to 3 years. As a result, they know exactly what your child needs and always provide the right amount of challenge by adjusting the activities accordingly.
If the observations show (or if there is an indication from the youth health care) that your child needs some extra support, he or she can free 1, 2 or sometimes even 3 extra half days to the toddler group. This also applies if we see that your child needs an extra challenge. For these extra half days you can go to our toddler plus groups. Of course, this will be discussed with you first.
When your child is almost 4 years old, we will transfer the data from the KIJK! observations to the primary school. This will of course only happen with your permission.
Municipal allowance
The government finds it very important that all toddlers get the chance to go to daycare with peers. This is good for your child's development, because here your toddler makes friends, learns to count, sings songs and much more! In this way your child is well prepared for primary school.
